TCCT NEWSLETTER AUGUST 13, 2010

Our bulletin board - season information

Board of Directors: President-Cathy Lacey; Vice President of Membership-Susie Wisdom; Vice President of Fundraising-Bethann Fenn; Vice President of Public Relations and Executive Producer-Carol Anton; Secretary-(currently being shared) Susie Wisdom and Angele Majewicz, Treasurer-Helen Patterson.

Mark your calendars for the next theatre meeting: Wednesday, August 25 at 6 pm for pot luck and 6:30 for the meeting. We want to see all your smiling faces.

Welcome to August. Happy Birthday to all you August-born babies. Hope your summer has been providing a sizzling time!

Under the heading of HELP WANTED – we are in need of a Secretary to fill the position that was held by Linda Phillips who passed away in June. It is currently being handled by Susie and Angele, but we need a person to step up and volunteer to take on this position. The Secretary will be required to take minutes at the Board Meeting and at the general meeting.

Our next activity will be the pulling of the weeds on August 17, at 7 am (in the cool of the morning) ……We need all hands on deck to help eradicate the remaining weeds so we can spread the remainder of the rock. If you haven’t seen what the theatre yard looks like in rock, please drive by and take a gander.

We want to thank those who sweated, pulled, shoveled, spread and groaned in July to get the yard in the shape it is currently in: Lew Patterson, Ron Fenn, Rick O’Neill, Tom Wisdom, Bob Culpepper, Jeanette Conniker, Helen Patterson, Bethann Fenn, Cathy Lacey, and Carol Anton.

TCCT, Inc would like to welcome our new member Lydianne Boensch (pronounced Bunch) to our organization. She is very excited about the theatre and has brought a new prospective, in the way of Victorian theatre, to our group.

CURRENT EVENTS

“Revenge of the Red Feather Ladies” has been approved by the board for production for 2011. Charles Kuhne will have his directing debut with this play, which is an all-women play. He says he hopes he enjoys working with all women. Charlie is currently rehearsing as the BAD guy in Seniors of the Sahara.

Cathy says she is looking for volunteers for the September Art Hop. The Art Hop is a great way of getting our name out into the art and artsy community.

We have a new quilt up for raffle. Carol Anton has just completed her “Community Garden” creation. It is a large lap quilt – 56 x 78, and features patches of fruits and vegetables on a background of green leaves. We will have a picture of it on the website at www.truthorconsequencescommunitytheatre.org. A reserve has been placed on the quilt. Tickets are ready for sale and they will be sold at the County Fair also. The drawing will take place once the reserve has been met. In addition to regular raffle tickets, we are offering a deal that includes tickets to one of our productions. This will be announced at the general meeting August 25.

The County Fair is October 8-10. We need volunteers to help with the setting up the booth and taking it down, selling tickets, baked goods, sarsaparilla (a favorite), pickles and most of all, selling the idea of live theatre in the community. Your help is needed.

A Memorial Fund has been established at Compass Bank. The fund will go toward a new building or building on of our current building. All donations made in memoriam to our gone-but-not-forgotten members will be placed in this fund.

Bullocks receipts are still needed to help pay for having the theatre house air conditioned this summer as well as heated in the winter. So bring in your receipts!!

Crushed aluminum cans are now selling for $.50 per pound and the theatre could benefit from your donation of all the aluminum cans you can give us.
